Under the direction of the VP of Perioperative, Quality and Patient Safety, the Senior Project Manager of Patient Access participates in strategic planning and establishing targets in partnership with leaders involved in providing patients access to care. Functions as operational resource to develop consistent efficient and effective process for appointments, referrals, and authorizations.  This position encompasses performance improvement initiatives which utilize Lean and six sigma methodologies to design more efficient, cost effective, patient-centered care delivery and drive operational effectiveness.  This position develops full-scale project plans; financial plans, quality audit follow-ups, and associated communications documents. In general, this position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of multiple, simultaneous projects ensuring consistency with the organization’s strategy.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Management or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience.
  • Master's degree in a related field is preferred.

Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible project management experience that demonstrates a strong understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Specialized Training:

  • Requires certification as a Lean/six sigma Green Belt.
  • Lean six sigma Black Belt certification is required within 18 months of position.

Certification/Licensure:

  • None

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of project management techniques and tools required.
  • Must have the ability to supervise and coordinate the work of subordinate personnel in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale. 
  • Must be approachable, people oriented, and a good listener.

  • Requires the ability to be a creative, independent thinker.
