Under the direction of the Assistant Director Pharmacy Outpatient, this position assists pharmacy management in the fiscal accountability of the department. Responsibilities including but not limited to; accounts payable, audit of pharmaceutical purchases, hospital or clinical department floor stock charges, pharmacy software systems, dialysis billing, collecting and publishing financial data. Effectively communicates status of all projects to pharmacy management and staff, when applicable. Develops and revises policies and procedures as needed. Helps to define and identify financial issues and opportunities for the Pharmacy Department.
Requires a High school diploma or GED. A Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work.. Requires a minimum of five (5) years Pharmacy Technician experience. Two (2) years billing/accounts receivable and/or business office experience preferred. Must possess CPhT Certification issued by PTCB and be licensed by the AZ State Board of Pharmacy. Must have thorough knowledge of outpatient/retail pharmacy business.
Must demonstrate the ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry-related periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations and effectively present information relevant to their area of expertise when appropriate.Demonstrate practical knowledge of computers, software, and products applicable to the pharmacy industry. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and other contacts. Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
