Financial Analyst I
Under the direction of the Manager of Budgeting and Financial Reporting, the Financial Analyst I will support the Decision Support function by providing basic level reporting solutions and analysis. As part of the Decision Support Team at MIHS this position has responsibility for the maintenance, integration, improvements, build, test and implementation of reports and reporting systems. Works collaboratively with finance team, IT teams and end-users. The position actively participates in the annual budget process. Additionally, the position performs queries to assist in financial analysis, audit requests, survey preparation and other informational requests. This position will participate in special projects, preparing financial data as necessary. Provide financial analysis support to department managers and provide senior management with information on all areas of revenue and costs.
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work. Prefer prior experience in decision support, financial planning/analysis, accounting or data reporting related experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Prefer experience in a healthcare setting. Must be skilled in Microsoft office products (including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access). Must have a good understanding of accounting principles. Must have the ability to analyze data and calculations to determine to create and verify reports. Must be able to use and maintain a variety of software systems with an understanding of data structure and data sources. Must have ability to collect and analyze data; and the ability to perform workflow analysis and translate the outcome into easy to follow conclusions. Must be able to demonstrate increasing independence and decreasing need for work direction to succeed with an ever-widening range of assignments. Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing including the ability to inform and advise. Must be able to exercise initiative in conducting the necessary facilitation and resolution of application/system design. Requires the ability to develop initiatives in an innovative manner for effective resolution. Must be able to prepare and conduct effective presentations; assess priorities and self-time manage through deliverables; meet deadlines; and coordinate activities with diverse groups and individuals. Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
