Job Details:
  • Under the direction of the Chief Governance Officer, the Assistant Clerk will assist with planning and implementing the activities and operations of the Maricopa Health Centers Governing Council to provide accurate and responsive administration of Governing Council proceedings and official Councils Records. This position will be responsible for managing multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines and maintaining administrative processes which are essential to this position. Works in a very high paced, highly demanding role and is performed under the general direction of the Chief Governance Officer with latitude to exercise professional judgment and initiative.


    Requires a High School Diploma or GED. Must have a minimum of five (5) years' progressively responsible executive level or public administrative experience that demonstrates a strong understanding of the requiredknowledge, skills and abilities. Prefer experience working for a Board/Council in a federal, state, county or municipal clerk setting. Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing including knowledge of basic grammar, spelling & punctuation. Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English. Requires knowledge of Arizona Open Meeting Law, Parliamentary Procedures, and Arizona Revised Statutes. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe/Nuance programs as well as the Internet. Must have the ability to skillfully operate and use a wide variety of computer based software, equipment and systems. Must be able to use independent judgment and exercise considerable self-initiative. In addition the candidate will possess decision-making skills, problem-solving skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and have the ability to plan, organize and direct projects within timeframes. Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must have strong typing skills, preferably with the ability to type a minimum of 60 wpm.
