  • Under the direction of the Director Medical Eligibility, this position is responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the Psychiatric daily census. Manages reporting requirements of the Behavioral health contract and tracks court related statistics.

    Qualifications:

    Requires an Associate's degree; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work. Must have a minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible patient registration related experience that demonstrates a strong understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Prefer experience working with Psychiatric Hospital census tracking. Must have a working knowledge of AZ State requirements as pertains to Legal status of Psychiatric population. Must possess current understanding of Court ordered admissions versus voluntary. Must be able to interpret and understand the requirements of all AZ counties per contract. Must understand requirements of government and non government payors. Must be able to interpret and report daily admissions, legal status and payor source. Must investigate discrepancies and make corrections to ensure the accuracy of information. Must have strong organizational skills, and be able to manage time and meet deadlines. Must be proficient in computer applications and automated eligibility systems. Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
