  • Under the general management of the Corporate Compliance Manager, the Compliance Coordinator is responsible for performing a variety of compliance related activities including: providing support to the Compliance Team; assisting with developing and delivering education; responding to inquiries reported through the Compliance Hotline; and helps to monitor identified industry risk areas to ensure compliance with established CMS, Federal, and State rules, regulations, laws and MIHS policy and procedures. This position will distribute regulatory information and recommendations to all levels of management under the direction of the Corporate Compliance Manager and the Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer.


    Requires a High School Diploma or GED. An Associates' Degree or higher in a healthcare related filed is preferred. Must have at least two (2) years of healthcare related experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Prefer recent experience performing medical record reviews and compliance related functions. Specialized training in any of the following is highly desirable: EPIC EHR, EthicsPoint, Coding products/software, Midas, OIG RAT-STATS, and/or other statistical software. Prefer certification in healthcare compliance (CHC or equivalent certification). Prefer a basic knowledge of ICD-9-CM, CPT and HCPCS coding systems and familiarity with Fee-For-Service and OPPS payment systems; familiarity with the Centers of Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS, Noridian Healthcare Solutions, and AHCCCS) requirements; and experience referencing coding resources. Prefer some experience creating, developing and presenting educational materials for MIHS staff at all levels of the organization. Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite; comfortable with creating, developing and using spreadsheets (Excel); presentations (PowerPoint); and reports (MS Word). Prefer analytical skills inclusive of problem identification and resolutions skills. Requires excellent telephone communication skills, questioning, and listening skills. Requires time management and organization skills with a strong attention to detail. Must be able to deal effectively with all levels of employees and management. Requires strong written and verbal communication skills; as well as strong interpersonal skills. Requires the ability to read, write, speak and communicate effectively in English.
