  • Under the direction of the Director Marketing, this position organizes and coordinates participation of MIHS in special events, such as health fairs and community resource events. In addition, this position is responsible for developing relationships with clinical and non-clinical MIHS staff to coordinate activities and services provided by the health care system at community outreach events. The Community Outreach Coordinator also represents MIHS and builds professional and collaborative relationships with school systems, social services agencies and other community organizations through event participation and attending appropriate meetings on behalf of the system.

    Qualifications:

    Requires a Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work. Requires at least three (3) years of progressively responsible outreach, sales and/or community relations related experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Previous healthcare experience is preferred. Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid AZ issued driver's license in good standing, and must carry the AZ legally required minimum insurance coverage on personal vehicle at all times. Must have acute knowledge and understanding of cultural diversity and language of targeted populations. Requires the ability to effectively speak in front of diverse crowds, proficient in public speaking. Must be self-motivated, positive, outgoing, personable and able to relate well with diverse populations and age groups. Must be able to take initiative, multi-task, work well under pressure, adapt to change, and complete required assignments in a timely fashion. Requires excellent organizational skills and verbal and written communication skills. Must have exceptional interpersonal skills; be a team player, ability to communicate with diverse personalities, tactful, mature and flexible. Requires the ability to build rapport with other, and to work independently and self-manage. Must be able to effectively use Microsoft office applications (ie Word, Excel, Outlook). Requires the ability to have a reliable form of transportation to travel throughout the community. Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English. Bilingual is highly preferred.
