  • Under the direction of the Controller, this position will assist the Controller in directing financial activities of the organization by performing aspects of accounting including but not limited to, payroll, accounts payable, and general ledger. Provides technical accounting expertise for the system and helps to ensure the integrity of financial information. Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies and the provision of timely, accurate services to customers at all levels of the institution.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work. Must have a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible accounting, finance, or general ledger experience that demonstrates a strong level of understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Requires prior experience in a hospital or ambulatory healthcare setting. Requires prior supervisory or management experience. Prefer certification as a Certified Public Accountant. Requires knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Governmental Accounting Standards. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must possess good customer service and communications skills, the ability to work with professionals, and maintain confidentiality standards. Requires thorough knowledge of general accounting, both in accrual and cash basis. Must have the ability to supervise and coordinate the work of subordinate personnel in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale. Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
